The Miracle Worker

My long time good friend Jen Wyeth (Meacham) came to SD for a month while her hubby was on a Dental School Rotation out here. She graciously agreed to take pictures of our little family at the beach. This was our first ever photoshoot. (I know, worst mom ever, not a single professional portrait of my kid and he's 1.6 years old) Eag and Addi came down so we could kill two birds with one stone and help each other out during our shoots. It was a cold, windy, cloudy shoot with 2 VERY busy toddlers. After we finished I thought we would get like 2 or 3 good shots and I would be happy. Boy was I WRONG! Jen is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! When she showed me the unedited proofs at her house I started bawling. I couldn't believe how beautiful each and every shot was. If you live in san diego or Arizona then you must contact her immediately. Go HERE to see her photo blog and prices. Plus, she GIVES you ALL the pictures on a CD so you can buy prints yourself!!! Boo-yaw! There were too many to post so here's a slideshow. The picture quality is crappy so imagine them really clean and crisp. If you click on View All Images you can click through them at your own pace. We LOVE you Jen!

You've Got to be Kidding Me!!!!

These pictures were taken at the ER last night. So we were looking at these model homes near our neighborhood just for fun. Luke LOVES running around in them and looking in all the cubbies and closets and gets REALLY hyper and it's hilarious. We were in this kids bedroom that had half size furniture and Luke was in one of the armchairs. We said, "come on choob, it's time to go to the next room." As we were turning to leave the room Luke stood up in the chair and in slow motion we saw the back of it fall and he hit his head right between the eyes on the wooden rail of a bunkbed. The LOUDEST crack you ever heard and some profanity from mom and dad and then we grab Choob and I am looking at his forehead because I was convinced that it was split in two but then realized that the blood was coming from his mouth! I ignored the goose egg allready turning blue and focused on the mouth. He only let me look inside once and it looked like both cheeks were split and spurting blood which continued to dribble out his mouth all around his binky and onto his clothes. So we rush out to the car via the model home office (I HATE that you have to go through the office to get out. Like we look like potential house buyers. I'm so sure!) and head to the ER. After 2.5 hours and 30 minutes of XRays (me holding a thrashing, screaming, bleeding Choob down with a lead vest) it was determined that there was NO skull fracture and he did not need stitches. Yipee! We had to wake him every two hours last night to make sure he wasn't slipping into a coma. This morning I wish I was in a coma because I am so tired! His mouth is healing and his head is goose eggless so no worries. Just a little scare.

Happy Mother's Day!

I get to be his mom. Neener Neener Neener!

This year's Mothers Day was the best. I took a heavy dose of NyQuil the night before (I've been battling bronchitis for the third week) and as a result woke from my menthol induced coma with an extra 2 hours of sleep under my belt. Boo-Yaw! Dan took the Choob and let me sleep in!!! When he finally let Luke wake me up there was a present and a card (with the sweetest things written in it) next to me in bed. Inside the pretty little gift bag was a gift card to Target, my new favorite clothing store. Seriously, it rules. I also got a wonderful frame full of my favorite pictures in the whole world (post to come) and the new ju ju be diaper bag I have been wanting. Then Dan re-created a Teds breakfast sandwich using a crissont, 2 fried eggs, cheese and bacon and added some fresh strawberries on the side. I got to lay around the rest of the day until Choober woke from his nap. We went to the zoo and spent the afternoon laughing at Luke and went to my moms house for Sunday dinner and dessert. What a day. Thanks to my two boys, today I was on top of the world.

This is What Happens When......

Mom goes to the restroom and Dad takes Luke into a store. Please notice the small panda clenched in his left fist.
