[Dec 13] A Meeting with Baby Von
Last night I went up to Huntington to see my friend and her new baby. Little Baby Von is here! 7 lbs 1 oz, 20 inches. He came out after 12 minutes of pushing. What a champion our little Eag is! The doctor said she was made to have babies. I must say she makes em pretty darn cute. Look at all that hair!
He is THE SWEETEST boy. Just look at this peaceful little popple. He just calms everybody around him. It was really hard not to steal him away as my own. We love you baby VON!

[Oct 7] Another Hobbit Sighting
So The Choob and I were spending a leisurely afternoon at the children's zoo. Actually, we hadn't even made it into the children's zoo part since we ALWAYS hit up the nacho stand right before it's entrance.
So there we were, enjoying our nachos slathered with cheese and who do I spy strollin by???? Yup Charlie from Lost (aka one of the hobbits).
This is the THIRD time I've have seen him. My first encounter was at the wild animal park with him and Elijah wood on a pohotocaravan tour. I got my boss to give me an 8X10 blown up of them so I could give it to Dan for his birthday since he is in love with LOTR.
Then I saw him and Elijah Wood again strolling around in the good ol Windward mall in kaneohe.
Now the third time at the SD zoo. Sadly his trusty sidekick Elijah. had been replaced with mystery girl and child. So I grabbed my camera with my cheese hands and shamelessly ran up in front of them to get a picture. Please look at mystery girls face in the shot below. I swear I was the only one who knew he was famous.

[Oct 5] The Big Opio at Sea World
Sea World had a great Halloween Spooktacular this year! They had special Halloween shows, trick or treating, and the whole place was decorated. Choobies favorite thing was the big blow up Opio (aka octopus) at the entrance. This thing was huge!
This clever little barricade disguised as a wave was meant to fence people out of the octopus habitat. Well no flimsy little surf fence is gonna stop the Choob from running up and nuzzling the crap out of the giant octopus.
Oh yeah, did I mention it shot out bubbles. The Choob was in heaven! And so was his puppy.Monday, December 8, 2008

[Oct 2] Baa Baa Black Sheep a Little Distracted

[Oct 2] Sea World With Uncle Jeff
Uncle Jeff teaches Choob many things, most of which fall into the naughty category. Like picking your nose with two fingers and wiping it on momma, naughty. Today Jeff taught the Choob something appropriate: how to raise both hands in the air when you are on a ride.
Choob is still a little afraid of the water squirts, but Jeff convinced him to get pretty close to them and by the end of the day, Choob was actually touching the water with his hands. A big step.
The one thing Choobie loves to do most at sea world is to climb the "buggle nets" (ever since he was a baby he has called spiders "buggles." We are not sure why) with Jeff. Choobie climbs them as fast as he can and Jeff pretends he is the big spider chasing him. Jeff web attacks him and then they roll down into the bottom of the net where Jeff sucks out his blood and then they climb and repeat the process all over again.
Until recently Chobie had no interest in theme park characters of any kind. Now when he sees them, he runs up to them and hugs them and sometimes even snuggles/nuzzles them. Here he is with Elmo.
Choobie wanted to go touch "Mr. Ray" but his little arms are too short to reach the Manta Rays. Uncle Jeff did not see this as a problem and would use his long Goose arms to grab the ray and gently guide him over to the side.

[Nov 15] Help Me Obi Wan Kenobi...You're My Only Hope
Guess what I got for my birthday this year?????? Staph infection. Yup. Right on the end of my nose. The 'ol rudolph schnoz for my b-day celebration. It's a good thing I'm allergic to antibiotics huh? KILL ME NOW! I've had her for about 10 days now and she is getting smaller. Hopefully she'll be gone by the 10th day of my meds or else Dan says "they're gonna have to snip the beak off." In other news, how do you think I look as a brunette? hehehe

[Oct 31] Choobs First Trick or Treat
Please watch how he knocks so quietly and then screams "trick or treat" not so quietly.

[Oct 31] Trick or Treat Jedi Style
I was Princess Leia and Dan was Luke Skywalker. I think that if you dress up you are perfectly entitled to receive candy. Even if you are a fully grown adult accompanying your toddler. Dan thinks otherwise. I still made him take a bucket. And I think he was glad when he got home with it half full of sweets.
This is what our door looked like when we left to go trick or treating. It looked pretty much the same when we returned a few hours later. Have I mentioned that our neighbors are all old Russians? He refused to let go of his "glow light saber" and his "Halloween light saber" (which is in fact, a pencil with pumpkins on it) so it made carrying his bucket and trick or treating a little tricky.
Choob loved this pumpkin. The ghost went up and down and everytime he "pumped up" Choob would say, "see it again...see it again." I wonder what the homeowners thought of us spending so much time on their driveway.
Cool huh?! This guys house was the best and he handed out glow necklaces to all the kids. He had his entire garage set up with halloween stuff and even had the rocky horror picture show playing on a TV in his driveway.
Choob LOVES "scary guys". In the weeks preceding Halloween we would drive around the neighborhood to look at "scary guys" every SINGLE night. This scary guy actually removes his own head and then puts it back on again. Choob was in heaven.
Our night ended with the best treat of all: Choobie's first pee on the potty! He was so surprised when he got off the potty and saw his accomplishment he said, "pee pee is yellow!" It was a Happy Halloween for us indeed.
